A mass shooting at the Aurora Mall has injured numerous people and dozens dead. According to Aurora police chief Dan Oates, 12 people are dead and 71 victims were shot in the theatre. Of the deceased, 10 died on the scene and 2 have died in the hospital.
Oates also confirmed that they are investigating the suspect's apartment and that it is rigged with "incendiary and chemical" devices. The area around the apartment has been evacuated.
Witnesses say the gunman set off smoke bombs or tear gas, put on a gas mask and started firing an assault rifle. According to Chief Oates, the gunman had an assault rifle, a shotgun and two handguns. The gunman was wearing all black with ballistic armor all over his body and a ballistic helmet.
